We are so glad you are joining The Ursuline School community!

This webpage is a resource dedicated to you. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will post more information here, relating to important dates, technology, sports tryouts, and fall orientation. Please check back often.

This webpage is a central place for you, our newest families, to find information helpful as you begin your Ursuline experience in this next school year.

We also invite you to start checking the Parent Portal on our website. The Parent Portal is at the top, right-hand corner of every webpage. Just click on the word in gold, Parents.

We send out information and news to our families on a regular basis. You are now added to the distribution of our parent E-News. The E-News is sent out twice a month, on a Tuesday. The E-News contact list is generated from the Primary email you entered on the enrollment contract. However, we are happy to add more emails, if that is convenient for you. Emails of both parents, or work and home emails - whatever is most helpful to you. Simply email Mrs. Mulder, the Director of Communications, at mulderr@ursulinenewrochelle.org

Emails regarding school business will be sent from one of the following email accounts: OfficeofThePresident, OfficeofThePrincipal, MainOffice, AcademicGuidance, PersonalDevelopment, Athletics, CampusMinistry or OfficeoftheRegistrar. These are all @ursulinenewrochelle.org. Please check your email settings to accept emails from these senders.

The Fathers' Club and Mothers' Auxiliary will send emails to members with respect to their major events.

LARCHMONT Van Service (Metro North New Haven line)

We are offering van service in 2017 -18 for students who wish to ride Metro North’s New Haven Line from Manhattan, Bronx, Mt. Vernon East, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Harrison, Rye, Port Chester and Connecticut with a pick up/drop off location at the Larchmont station. Morning pick up at 7:30 a.m. and afternoon return leaving at 3:15 p.m. The form may be downloaded here. Please submit it by May 26 to Mrs. Carolsue Tarshis in the Main Office of The Ursuline School.

CRESTWOOD Van Service (Metro North Harlem Line)

This van service is for students who ride Metro North’s Harlem Line from Manhattan, Bronx, White Plains and Upstate.

The morning pickups are 7 a.m., 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. The afternoon return trips are at 3:05 p.m. and 5 p.m. There is no 5 p.m. van on Fridays or the day before a school holiday.

If you are interested in registering for the Crestwood Van, please complete the application by May 26 and submit to Mrs. Carolsue Tarshis in the Main Office of The Ursuline School. The 2017 - 18 application can be downloaded here.

Summer Reading Lists

The Social StudiesReading List is now available (as of July 18) for downloading Here.

The High School Reading List for English was UPDATED to reflect the addition of the requirement that all high school students read "The Color of Water" by James McBride; that list may be downloaded HERE. Summer assignments based on these books are specified. We also encourage the girls to choose books from a list of suggested additional titles.

Middle school students are asked to read books specific to their grade, and to make notes or answer questions in preparation for classes in the fall. We also provide a list of recommended additional titles. The Middle School Reading List may be downloaded HERE.

Camp Mariah 9th Grade Orientation

The off-site orientation day for the entire 9th grade will be on Wednesday, September 6. The Parent Letter and Permission Slip were given out at the Welcome Reception on May 24. For your convenience, the Parent Letter may be downloaded HERE and the Permission Slip may be downloaded HERE.


Laptops. Incoming students and current students with new laptops are asked to bring their laptops to school during Tech Hours in order to have certain software loaded. Tech Hours are 9am – 1:30pm, Monday – Friday, July 5 – Aug 4. Laptops need to be left with Technology for at least one hour. No appointment necessary. The spec sheet is HERE.

Calculators. Attention incoming 9th grade students: All high school students are asked to purchase a TI-Nspire CX Calculator. This will be for use in both math and science courses. This calculator is acceptable on all standardized test.

MOODLE is our Learning Management System that students use every day. New students will be given their MOODLE username and password when they bring their computer to Mr. Gonzalez to load the required software. However, it will not be operational until the end of August. Any information new students need or parents need before then will be posted here. Parents will receive an email with their parent MOODLE username and password by the end of September.

Sports Tryouts

Fall Sports Tryouts will begin Monday, August 21.

Our uniform is comprised of various items. While the navy or white collared polo shirt, leggings, and shoes may be purchased at various retailers, certain items are purchased from FlynnO'Hara Uniform Company. Other items, such as the Ursuline t-shirt for physical education classes or the approved blue/white Ursuline sweatshirts and fleeces, are purchased at the school bookstore during the year.

The FlynnO'Hara representatives come on campus in the fall and in the spring, and you may also visit their store, call, or go online at www.flynnohara.com/school/ny251 The 2017 price list may be downloaded Here. They recommend ordering before August 1 for delivery in time for our first day of school.

Uniform guidelines are posted on our Parent Portal. There are descriptions for each season, Dress Uniform and Dress Down Days, and for physical education classes.

10 a.m. – 12 noon Middle School Welcome Coffee hosted by the Mothers' Auxiliary

SATURDAY, September 9 - Family BBQ at 12 noon hosted by the Fathers' Club. All are welcome! No charge. Meet other families and chat with members of faculty and administration.

2017 Technology Orientation for NEW Students
MOODLE is the virtual learning environment used at Ursuline that allows teachers to provide students with access to electronic teaching and learning materials. So that incoming students will be ready and able to use MOODLE and some other important systems on the first day of school, all incoming NEW students in grades 7,8,9,10, and 11 are required to attend a technology orientation session prior to the first day of school. Students are to bring their laptop and charger.

Photo IDs
At Orientation, student photo ID pictures are taken at no additional cost, and we ask that each student fill in her name and home room on the photo form (available Here) and bring it when she sits for her photo. If you would like to order photos for your family, please fill out the top part of the form and send a check or cash payment with your daughter at Orientation.
