Looking back with gratitude and ahead with confidence

Looking back with gratitude and ahead with confidence

by Dr. Colleen Melnyk, president

Over the past several weeks, I have celebrated the Class of 2026 at Commencement, gathered with our Board of Trustees for our final meeting of the year, welcomed colleagues from the Ursuline Education Foundation (UEF) to campus, and spent time with students, faculty, and families as another school year comes to a close.

Those moments represent how much has happened at Ursuline this year.

This has been a productive and meaningful year at Ursuline. We welcomed new leadership, continued important work through our Strategic Planning process, and remained focused on strengthening the experience of our students while staying grounded in our mission and values.

Celebrating the Class of 2026 at Commencement was a special way to mark the end of the year. This graduating class leaves Ursuline with accomplishments that reflect years of hard work, growth, and achievement. Collectively, the Class of 2026 earned more than $36 million in merit scholarship offers and will continue their journeys at colleges and universities across the country and beyond. More importantly, they leave Ursuline prepared for what comes next.

This year also included work that will continue into the year ahead. Through the Strategic Planning process, members of our community helped shape conversations about Ursuline's future. I look forward to sharing more in the months ahead as that work continues.

In recent weeks, we also welcomed colleagues from the UEF to campus. Their visit was a meaningful reminder that while schools evolve over time, our mission remains constant. The Ursuline Sisters have approached the future with foresight and care, committed to preserving the legacy they have built over generations and ensuring that Ursuline education remains strong for years to come.

This year reinforced the positive momentum we continue to build at Ursuline, and I am excited about what lies ahead.

Thank you for your support of The Ursuline School and for all of the ways you contribute to this community. I wish you and your families a restful and joyful summer.
