The power of participation: Strengthening Ursuline through annual giving

The power of participation: Strengthening Ursuline through annual giving

by Dr. Colleen Melnyk, president

Christmas invites us to slow down and notice what truly matters. It is also an invitation to be grateful, to recognize the blessings in our lives, and to reflect on God’s presence in the ordinary moments that shape us.

At Ursuline, this season reminds me how much our students are shaped each day by the generosity of those who believe in them. Annual giving is one of the quiet strengths of our school. It touches academics, arts, athletics, campus ministry, counseling, and the many moments when a girl grows in confidence, curiosity, and purpose.

What makes annual giving so meaningful is the shared commitment behind it. When families participate, they affirm their belief in our mission to educate, inspire, and empower young women. Their generosity allows us to create an environment where students think deeply, act with integrity, and learn to serve with joy. It also gives us the flexibility to respond to needs, invest in our faculty, and keep the Ursuline experience vibrant and strong.

"Every act of generosity, whether seen or unseen, helps shape the young women entrusted to our care."
- Dr. Colleen Melnyk 'P18, president

During this season of gratitude, I am especially mindful of the countless ways our community supports our students. Every act of generosity, whether seen or unseen, helps shape the young women entrusted to our care. Our girls feel that support, and it becomes part of the foundation that carries them forward.

Thank you for the many ways you lift Ursuline. I am grateful for your partnership and for the trust you place in us.
