On June 18, 2020, President Eileen Davidson formally announced her planned retirement at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
The Board of Trustees is in the process of selecting the new President of The Ursuline School.
This process includes hiring an outside executive search firm to ensure an extensive national search of diverse and highly qualified candidates, gathering input from all school constituencies, and sharing news as the search progresses so that the entire Ursuline community remains connected to this important process.

After careful consideration, the Board of Trustees has decided to extend the search for Ursuline’s next President and has asked the Search Committee to continue their important work on behalf of the Board.

February 3, 2021 | Finalist Update
Choosing from a pool of 67 applicants, the Search Committee narrowed the selection of candidates and conducted the semi-finalist round of interviews. From an impressive caliber of semifinalists, the Search Committee has put forward two candidates as finalists.
While the final decision to select Ursuline’s next President rests with the Board of Trustees and Members, our goal from the start of the process has been to incorporate the insight of all stakeholders in the community. Once again, we are asking the Ursuline community to engage with us in this important next step. Each finalist will meet with representative groups of students, faculty, parents, staff, administrators, alumnae and others during two-day interview schedules.
November 20, 2020 | Building the President Candidate Pool
Much of the groundwork for the Search for Ursuline's next President has been completed. The input from constituent meetings and the Community Survey have helped to inform the qualities that the community is seeking in its next President. These insights were incorporated into the Position Description made available to all potential candidates and which has been posted on this site, on LinkedIn and on other select social media platforms.
The next phase of the Search has begun with building the candidate pool and screening of candidates by Diversified. After Thanksgiving, Diversified and the Search Committee will enter the confidential phase of the Search as we conduct candidate interviews. Upon completion, we will plan community meetings for the candidates, expected to be conducted in February.
September 21, 2020 | Stakeholder Meetings
Over the past several weeks, Diversified Search has been conducting stakeholder meetings with the Ursuline School Community. We are grateful for the many alumnae, parents, and friends who have shared their thoughts about this transition.
If you have been unable to attend a meeting, the Search Committee has established an email account (TUSPresidentialSearch2020@gmail.com) to accept feedback as well. We are interested in your views on the characteristics which are most important for the next President, her/his top opportunities & challenges, and the necessary leadership qualities that you recommend for consideration. All submissions will be read by the entire Search Committee.

The Strategic Planning Oversight Committee of the Board emailed anonymous surveys seeking feedback on a variety of key strategic issues, including qualities desired in the next President. The surveys were sent to faculty & staff, alumnae, students and parents (current and past).
