Maura McCormack ’27 earns St. Vincent’s Youth Award
Shannon Dufresne

Maura McCormack '27 has been named a 2026 St. Vincent's Hospital Youth Award recipient, one of 20 local high school students recognized for exceptional volunteer service. Presented annually by the hospital's Auxiliary, the award honors students whose work embodies the organization's core values of respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence.

Her selection points to a sustained commitment to serving others and contributing meaningfully to her community. At Ursuline, that spirit aligns closely with the school's motto, Serviam—I will serve.

In addition to her service, Maura is in her second year of Ursuline's Science Research program and was recently recognized at the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair (WESEF), where she earned the PEARL Hudson River Research Award and placed third in environmental sciences. Her work in both areas underscores a thoughtful approach to learning and a desire to make a broader impact.

Maura's award-winning essay, submitted as part of the selection process, details her inspiration for creating the nonprofit, Cupcakes4Heroes and illustrates her perspective on the impact of serving one’s community.
