The City of New Rochelle proudly celebrated Ursuline’s Varsity Cheerleading team during a special ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday, April 8, recognizing their extraordinary success during the 2024–25 season. The team was honored by the Honorable Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert P ‘28 and the New Rochelle City Council for capturing the 2025 National Championship title in the Traditional Division and earning 2nd place in the Nation for Game Day Cheer—a historic achievement for the school.
Mayor Ramos-Herbert, who is also an Ursuline parent, commended the cheerleaders for their “determination, dedication, and unwavering spirit,” highlighting their excellence not only in competition but also as ambassadors of teamwork and school pride.
Head Coach Adriana Lacarbonara ’03, along with Assistant Coaches Karissa Vargas ’08 and John Braca, joined the team in accepting the city’s recognition. Coach Lacarbonara thanked the city for their continued support and praised the athletes for their tireless work ethic and commitment throughout the season.
The celebration at City Hall was a meaningful tribute to a group of student-athletes whose passion and perseverance have led them to the top of national competition. The honor also serves as an inspiration to young athletes, proving that with dedication and teamwork, anything is possible.
