Master Class '23 features award-winning stylist, alum

Students, parents, alumnae, and friends welcomed Ms. Kendra Porter '95 on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, for Ursuline's second annual Master Class, "Honor Your Style! Using Fashion as a Tool to Create Your Personal Brand." Porter, an award-winning image consultant, stylist, TEDx speaker, and proud Ursuline alum, revealed that confidence is key when embracing one's unique style.

Co-hosted by the Future Women in Business (FWB) club and Ursuline's Advancement team, in-person attendees and those tuning in via live stream were treated to an engaging presentation designed to inform and empower women. Porter drew upon her enviable experience with luxury brands to offer tips on using fashion as a powerful personal branding tool.

The founder of the personal image consulting agency Honor You Style, Porter commits herself to helping others learn how to look and feel beautiful, regardless of shape or size. With over a decade of experience in the industry, she is adept at teaching women to use fashion as a tool and "love the skin they're in."

Attendees gained valuable insights from Porter's straightforward discussion on the key elements of style and color psychology. She described how color can be a tool to affect behavior and emotion. Her central message emphasized the power of style and its undeniable potential to "honor you!"

Master Class co-hosts were also treated to a private roundtable session with Ms. Porter. FWB club members benefitted from Porter's "real-world" perspective of business and entrepreneurship. The students gained valuable insights from an industry insider who generously shared lessons learned from her extensive work with luxury retailers and her backstage experience during NY Fashion Week.

Students, alumnae, parents, and guests mingled at a post-presentation reception. Many took the opportunity to ask Porter specific fashion questions. In return, she graciously gave one-on-one tips and even on-the-spot color analysis. The event inspired all attendees to embrace their unique sense of style confidently. Her motto sums it up beautifully: "Honor Your Style. HONOR YOU!"
