Sister School Adventure in Chinatown

Sister School Adventure in Chinatown

We were delighted to welcome 14 students and three faculty members from our sister school, Ursuline Academy of Dallas, on October 6, 2022.  Our network of Ursuline schools in North America and around the world always provides rich learning experiences.

Our Dallas guests enjoyed tours of the school led by our Student Ambassadors and they shadowed a class with a host "sister." Then Dallas and New Rochelle students conducted a lively school information exchange.  Each group showed slides highlighting their school traditions, Serviam activities, spiritual events, and academics. Their uniforms may be different colors of plaid, but they discovered many common features of the Ursuline educational experience.

The next day, students from our Mandarin Chinese class and Global Scholar Seminar joined our Dallas sister school group for an “Asia in NY” cultural and language learning day in Chinatown, Manhattan.

Students were thrilled to learn about Chinese culture in person and left Chinatown more motivated than ever to continue studying the Mandarin Chinese language and have meaningful experiences with Chinese culture in the future.
