The 2025-2026 school year is coming to an end, and with it the Spring Sports season. Scholar-athletes and coaches celebrated the end of a successful season with the Spring Athletics Dinner at the Wykagyl Country Club. Teammates and classmates gathered to uplift each others' performances and strengthen the sisterhood between teams. These are some of our Koalas' achievements this past season:
The Varsity Softball team had a very competitive season and advanced into the playoffs. They finished the season second place in the league with a 17-5 record. Ava Papaleo '26 was named the 2026 New York State Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for her leadership and skills that distinguish her as one of the best players in the country.
Additionally, Papaleo was named the Section One Softball League C Player of the Year, and Casey Harsany '27 was named the Section One Softball League C Pitcher of the Year.

Varsity Lacrosse ended in fifth place in the league after a hard fight with Brewster in the playoffs. They finished with a 7-10 record.

The Varsity Golf team had an eventful season. Nina Choe '26 successfully defended her Section 1 Girls Golf Champion title. Grace Rotatori '29 finished in fifth place in the Championship. Both athletes qualified for the NYSPHSAA State Championship as part of the Section 1 team, with Choe placing third.

The Track & Field Class A Championships took place on May 28, and Ursuline athletes put on exceptional performances. Sofia Henao '26 finished first in the Women's 400m. Sloane Harshman '28 came second in Women's Varsity High Jump.
Ursuline's relay teams came second in the Women's Varsity 4x400m relay, second in the Women's Varsity 4x800m relay, and third in the Women's Varsity 4x100m relay.
Jane Hickey '26 was selected as the "Refuel With Chocolate Milk Athlete of the Year" in the Girls Sprinter of the Year category.

The Spring Scholar-Athletes, many of whom played sports during the other athletic seasons of the year, demonstrated their commitment by finishing their seasons so strongly. They maintained their discipline and effort through the peak and wind-down of their academic engagements, as well as the enticement of warmer weather to slow down a bit. Ursuline is proud of the dedication of its athletes and looks forward to getting back to work in the fall.
