"Unity in Purpose" on Senior Retreat

St. John Paul II Youth Retreat Center set the scene for Ursuline's Senior Retreat '24, a spiritual journey inspired by Saint Angela Merici's teachings. The annual overnight retreat explores the essence of togetherness and provides quiet time to pray, reflect, and draw upon Saint Angela's teachings and experiences.

With graduation on the horizon, the thought-provoking retreat set out to unite the senior class in the Ursuline tradition of faith, foster bonds of friendship, and create lasting memories. It allowed seniors to delve deeper into the school's Core Values of Faith and Spiritual Development. It enabled students to reflect on their relationship with God and cultivate personal prayer plans to prepare for life after graduation.

Senior Lauren Campbell, reflecting on her retreat experience, explained the retreat's impact as she looks ahead to college, "My faith was strengthened by sharing experiences and memories with those I was close with, as well as girls I had never really talked to before. We learned from each other and prayed together, sharing the last moments of our retreat days at Ursuline."

As seniors of the Ursuline School, the students have spent years discerning what it means to answer Saint Angela's call to live united in "one heart and one will." Saint Angela, the patroness of the Ursulines, urges us to be bound to one another, helping and bearing with each other in Jesus Christ. Students were encouraged to reflect on their journey as classmates and individuals who seek to grow closer to God.

Before returning to school, students celebrated mass at the Church of the Holy Family in New Rochelle, where they were asked to carry forward the spirit of unity they cultivated together as the Class of 2024. May Saint Angela Merici's wisdom be a consistent source of inspiration, guiding the class toward greater faith and unity with God and each other.

My faith was strengthened by sharing experiences and memories with those I was close with, as well as girls I had never really talked to before. We learned from each other and prayed together, sharing the last moments of our retreat days at Ursuline."
