English

Through offerings like Ursuline's literary magazine Pegasus, student-run book club Between the Lines, school newspaper Unison, and peer-led writing center, students are empowered to use their voice and lead with confidence.

Goal:

To produce reflective, critical, and creative thinkers through reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing.

Curriculum Overview:

By using digital tools and resources, students engage in activities offering real-world skills. Students learn to read effectively, think critically, challenge held assumptions, provide methods of interpretation and research, look at texts from various angles, and write with clarity and coherence.

Through a study of literature, students become aware of moral conflicts. Students learn to construct meaning from texts. Focusing on study skills helps students become more efficient with their schoolwork organization.

In grades 10-12, all students write literary research papers using MLA format. Juniors and seniors may take Creative Writing as an elective.
