Welcome New Families 2024

This web page is a central place for you, our newest families, to find information helpful as you begin your Ursuline experience in the next school year.

We also invite you to start checking the Parent Portal on our website. The Parent Portal is at the top of the homepage and at the top, right-hand corner of every web page. Just click on the word Parents. No password needed.

Emails
We send out information and news to our families on a regular basis. We also send special emails as the need arises.

During the school year we send by email each Friday the Koala Weekly Bulletin which notes upcoming dates, announcements, permission slips, and news from our parent organizations. You will be added to that distribution starting in late August 2024.

We also send periodic E-Newsletters with photos and reports on school events.  You will be added to that distribution in Spring 2024.

Emails regarding school business will be sent as needed from one of the following email accounts: OfficeofThePresident, OfficeofThePrincipal, MainOffice, AcademicGuidance, PersonalDevelopment, Athletics, CampusMinistry or OfficeoftheRegistrar. These are all @ursulinenewrochelle.org. Please check your email settings to accept emails from these senders.

The Fathers' Club and Mothers' Auxiliary will send emails to members with respect to their major events.

LARCHMONT VAN SERVICE (Metro North New Haven line)

We offer van service for students who wish to ride Metro North’s New Haven Line from Manhattan, Bronx, Mt. Vernon, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Harrison, Rye, Port Chester and Connecticut with a pick up/drop off location at the Larchmont station.

Schedule for the 2024-25 School year (subject to change):

Morning pickup at Larchmont Station: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m.

Afternoon return to Larchmont Station: Monday - Friday 3:05 p.m. and 5:20 p.m

CRESTWOOD VAN SERVICE (Metro North Harlem Line)

This van service is for students who ride Metro North’s Harlem Line from Manhattan, Bronx, White Plains and points north.

Schedule for the 2024-25 School year (subject to change):

Morning pickup at Crestwood Station: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7 a.m., 7:20 a.m. and 7:40 a.m.
Wednesday 7:40 a.m., 8:20 a.m., and 8:40 a.m.

Afternoon return to Crestwood Station: Monday - Friday 3:05 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE

Parent(s) and incoming students are required to attend a 30-minute Technology Onboarding Session on one of 3 designated dates to drop off laptops for software installation:

• Thursday, June 27, 10 a.m.
• Tuesday, July 16, 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, August 6, 5 p.m.

Software Installations: 

The following programs will be installed: 

● Microsoft Office 365 for Microsoft Windows machines

● Microsoft Office 365 For Mac Computers

● Symantec Enterprise edition antivirus software

● Canon Print Software

● Chrome Browser and Adobe Reader.

Laptops will be ready for pick up exactly one week after scheduled onboarding session between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The minimum requirements for a student’s laptop or tablet are specified HERE. 

Calculators:  All high school students are required to purchase a TI-Nspire CXII Calculator. This will be for use in both math and science courses and is acceptable on all standardized tests.

Uniform Guidelines are displayed on the Parent Portal, on the blue tab at the top named Uniform Guidelines.  This tab includes photos of the various articles of clothing. 

Many of the essential uniform items  - such as the blue-and-white skirt and the required Ursuline navy sweater  -  are purchased from FlynnO'Hara Uniform Company. Items may be bought when FlynnO'Hara representatives come on campus in the fall and in the spring.  FlynnO'Hara  will be on campus on Tuesday, June 4 at 3:15 pm - 5:30 pm. You can also purchase items online at www.flynnohara.com/school/ny251  We invite you to download this flier with more details about ways to purchase the uniform.

FlynnO'Hara recommends placing orders a month in advance of the start of school, essentially by August 1. 

Our school bookstore, the Brendan J. Moyna Bookstore, sells items that meet our uniform guidelines such as approved blue/white Ursuline sweatshirts /fleeces and Ursuline t-shirts that are suitable for physical education class.  The bookstore also offers non-uniform spirit wear or gear such as pajama bottoms. You can visit the bookstore at https://tusbookstore.square.site/ to see merchandise.  We will open for preorder sales in late July. Please stay tuned. Also, PLEASE DISREGARD THE PICK-UP TIME INCLUDED ON YOUR ONLINE STORE RECEIPT! You may pick up bookstore merchandise in September.

The printed school calendar is distributed to all students at the start of the school year. There is an option to add a short birthday greeting on a student's birthday. If you wish to purchase a birthday commemoration for your daughter(s) to be included in the 2024-25 calendar, see details and form HERE.

You can find the Middle School Reading List HERE. 

All incoming 6-9 grade students must provide a Request for Records form to their current school. This form was also included with enrollment documents. We are providing the same form HERE so that you may send it to your existing school.

Schools will send academic transcripts directly to our school registrar.
