Drivers' Ed

For over 45 years, Drivers Ed has been offered at The Ursuline School. During this time thousands of students have been given the tools, experience and confidence to be safe and responsible drivers.

Students 16 years of age and older may take the Driver Education program at Ursuline.  The program is open to ALL high school students in the area.

Fall and Spring sessions consist of one driving class, and one lecture class per week. Lecture classes are offered after school only. Driving classes are offered during a student's free period (Ursuline students), after school, or on Saturday. The summer session consists of multiple driving and lecture classes per week. Program scheduling is made on a first come / first serve basis. Call (201) 962-7187 to register.

The cost of the course is $650 ($625 for Ursuline students).

Students who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion (MV-285), and an Insurance Letter, which will allow:

(1) a NYS Junior Permit holder the ability to schedule a road test,

(2) a potential auto insurance reduction (based on provider participation),

(3) a 17 year old to receive a senior license.

A 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course is required for any student to take the NYS Road Test and is INCLUDED in this program. It is not necessary to take an additional or separate course to get a MV-278 (Pre-Licensing Course Certificate). Either the MV-278 or MV-285 can be used to sign up for the NYS Road Test.
