CMMS 2020

Creating Opportunities for Ursuline Education

"Ursuline has always given us all a great sense of belonging and togetherness. But now, more than ever, we need to support our scholarships to ensure young women continue to be afforded the opportunities they so deserve!"

~ Shana Promuto Kasarda '91, Christine MacMenamin Memorial Scholarship Committee

The 8th Annual Christine MacMenamin Memorial Scholarship Reception went virtual on Thursday, May 7, 2020 -
but even distance could not diminish the Ursuline spirit!

A gallery of donors and friends raised a glass as Christine's friends and classmates from the planning committee delivered toasts of gratitude to Christine for the joy she gave, for friendships that last forever, and for a scholarship that continues her legacy at Ursuline.

Meet the Recipients

Attendees at the virtual reception enjoyed hearing from Jenn Nunez '18, the first recipient of the Christine MacMenamin Memorial Scholarship, now in her second year at NYU.

"I am forever grateful for the love and support I received during my four years at Ursuline. I was surrounded by strong, driven, and inspiring women who gave me the courage to be a leader. As someone who strongly believes in my alma mater's motto, Serviam, I knew that the best way to continue honoring Christine's memory after high school was to serve others."

Alyssa '22, a current sophomore and the second recipient of the Christine MacMenamin Memorial Scholarship, also joined the virtual reception. She prepared a special message for the committee and scholarship donors.

Giving to CMMS

Thanks to the generosity of many faithful donors through the years, Ursuline was able to offer the Christine MacMenamin Memorial Scholarship to an incoming student in the Class of 2024 - ahead of the 'every four years' cycle.

Since we were unable to hold our annual reception this year, please consider continuing your support for this very special scholarship with a donation of ANY size.

Thank you for your consideration and thank you for the many ways you support the mission of The Ursuline School.

Recognizing the tremendous need in our own backyard and in the Ursuline spirit of Serviam, 25% of all gifts to the scholarship in May and June 2020 were donated to HOPE Community Services to help alleviate food insecurity in New Rochelle.
